The Ionian yacht flotilla
Our Ionian yacht flotilla is for those who love to sail, but who prefer the
social environment that a yacht flotilla offers. In addition you can rely on the
support and advice of our friendly and experienced skippers on the lead yacht,
who know the Ionian and will be on hand to advise you on the best routes to take each day and assist
if necessary when arriving in port each evening. They know the best places to
eat and drink at each port of call on our Ionian flotilla, and will help to get
the group mixing and having a great holiday.
For us a flotilla holiday does not mean sailing in a line like ducks. You are
free to sail off and explore as you please, and just join us in the evenings if
you prefer. Alternatively, you can sail with the lead yacht and if you would like any
helpful hints or advice our skippers will be happy to oblige.
| Our Ionian yacht flotilla begins from the island of Lefkas (also known as Lefkada and Levkas),
at the heart of the Ionian Sea. During the week, depending on how the winds
blow, our Ionian flotilla will visit the peaceful island
of Meganisi, cosmopolitan Kefalonia, mythical Ithaka, the traditional Ionian island of
Kastos, and the bustling port of Paleros on the mainland of Greece. All of these beautiful islands are known for
their lush green hills and mountains, crystal clear seas and sheltered bays.
Ionian flotilla yacht charter requirements
Our Ionian flotilla is for skippers and crew who are confident and
competent enough to sail a yacht independently. It is a legal
requirement in Greece that the skipper is ICC certificated
(International Certificate of Competence), and that at least one of the
crew is certified to the level of 'competent crew' or higher. We will
request to see your certification.
For skippers and crew who have recently qualified our Ionian flotilla is an ideal way to
gain experience under the watchful eye of our lead skippers. Even very
experienced crews who like to 'do their own thing' during the day will
enjoy the benefit of our lead skipper's knowledge of the sailing area, and
groups travelling with kids and (truculent?) teenagers will have the
opportunity to mix with others in a similar position.
Our yachts
Our Ionian flotilla charter yachts are maintained to the highest standards by
our competent and experienced crew. Our Ionian flotilla is based in, and
returns to, the busy village of Nidri on Lefkas. Here you will find many
supermarkets to buy supplies, and restaurants & bars for your first and
last nights.
Our flotilla yachts are generally available from 17.00 on the first day.
Joining day is Sunday, the flotilla departs on Monday after a group
briefing. You will return to Nidri late on Saturday afternoon, and
vacate your yacht at 09.00am on Sunday. |

Deposit and final payment
We require a deposit of 20% of the above charter price at the time of
confirmation, to be paid online by credit card using our bank's secure
server. There is no credit card charge.
The final payment is to be paid 2 months before the start of the
charter, and may be paid by credit card or bank transfer.
Extra payments
In addition to the above charter charge there are some extra charges
which must be paid in cash at the time you join your flotilla on Lefkas.
These, along with any other requirements, are summarised below:
Note 1: There is a flotilla administration fee of
60 per cabin.
For these yachts there is an on-site cash payment per yacht
of 170 for one week and 230 for two weeks to cover: starter
pack, port papers and yacht damage waiver (Please note this covers
yacht 'damage' waiver - any major items lost [such as dinghy]
must be replaced and/or paid for locally before departing from the
yacht). End of charter yacht clean & bed-linen laundry is included.
Note 2:
There is a flotilla administration fee of
60 per cabin.
For these yachts there
is
either (your choice):
- a refundable (subject to no damage or loss) security deposit
of 1500 or
- a non-refundable yacht damage waiver of c. 260 (depends on the
yachts length)
Please note that this is for damage and does not cover loss of large
items such as dinghy/life raft etc for which you are still liable and
have to pay the replacement price before departure.
End of charter cleaning is 80 (up to 4 cabins), or
100 (5 cabins);
and yacht is to be
returned fully fuelled.
